In 1984 downtown Boise wasn’t much to look at, but more than twenty five years later the Brick Oven Bistro finds itself at the epicenter of a unique and thriving urban environment. For all of us at the Brick Oven, however, our “history” is more than just that of a successful business venture. Our restaurant was founded on the personal values we place on food, family and community. Through this venture we’ve made a lot of friends, touched a lot of lives, participated in the cultural life of a vibrant and growing city and served up a lot of love and good food to a lot of great people. Not a bad way to make a living, yes?
The spirit that animates our restaurant comes from a long-held conviction that our lives too often leave us feeling full, but not satisfied…busy, but not engaged. We wanted to create a place where people could come together in a comfortable environment and experience the joys of
“slow food served fast”
– a meal that not only tasted great, but was good for you. More than two decades later, we’re still doing exactly that…so pull up a chair at the kitchen table and sit down to the simple pleasures of home cooking.
